A Beautiful Wedding Turns Into A Sloppy, Eyebrow-raising After Party

I find it funny to see all the pomp and ceremony at weddings with two people exchanging diamonds rings (or whatever they choose as a symbol), and I imagine the hen party / stag party the few days before. I recently returned back to my home town to be present for my good friend’s wedding. The weekend before I had traveled to a bigger city for her bachelorette party where I met some of her friends, and learned about what an awful maid of honor her best friend was being. Of course, while we were there a “stripper” came…no worries, it was all for fun and was harmless. Turns out he was her brothers roommate playing a trick on her. Fast forward to the wedding. The rehearsal was rocky because her maid of honor showed up later, from what I was told. The ceremony was beautiful, from what I could see. I had to sit in the back corner! She looked wonderful and the actual wedding ran smoothly. After it was over we all met up at local building for the dinner and dance. Again, the maid of honor showed up LATE along with three other bride’s maids. We ate, then it was time for the toasts. The maid of honor stepped up to the microphone and slurred her way through an awful 10 minute toast, most of which she had to re-read. She was drunk. To make things better, she was barfing in the bathroom 10 minutes later, but headed straight back to the bar. The dance began and it was the best wedding march ever! My dance partner turned out to be the “stripper” at the wedding. Lucky me. The night went fairly smoothly and I can say it was one of the most memorable weddings ever.
